About Henket Ceramics

At the end of 2022, Jazz's partner Charlotte bought her a 2hr pottery taster class. At the end of the class, the teacher told her to quit her job and start a business in ceramics. Jazz has not quit her job, but since then has continued to enjoy potting, taking lessons ever since to hone her skills and now open a business in ceramics.

Prior to discovering the joys of pottery, Jazz studied as an Egyptologist in Sydney, Australia, attending an archeaological site in 2011 to help record wall scenes. All of her designs are bespoke and inspired by her knowledge of Egyptian hieroglyphs. Each type of pot is inscribed with a hieroglyphic word or phrase often relating to its function and the inscription is carved, painted in slip, and then glazed over.

If you would like to request a design with your own hieroglyphic word or phrase in mind, please use the "Contact" page to reach out - however, as ceramics is not Jazz's full-time job, new projects would need to be assessed with this in mind.
